Men’s Skin Care Routine Made Easy

Simple Men's Skin Care Routine

Proper skin care is something that everyone, no matter the gender, should practice. Many men view skin care routines as “girly” and consider any care outside of some basic soap and water to be “too much bother.” The truth is that everyone should take steps to protect his or her skin from the elements (especially the sun)! Compared to a man’s skin, a woman’s skin seems more delicate; that does not mean that men should treat their skin as if it were indestructible. As evidenced by teenage boys, men experience the same breakouts, acne, rashes, and other skin problems that women experience. This is why it is just as important for men to put into action a good skin care routing as women. Here are some easy tips for men to take proper care of their skin.

Simple Men’s Skin Care Routine

For those with sensitive skin, there are many products out there with all natural ingredients. You would be surprised to learn how many things you already have in your kitchen can help you fight breakouts and acne. You can use some of the same ingredients for an all-natural moisturizer or cleanser as you can for your family dinner. It’s true!

Some of the best natural skin care products contain simple and common things like avocado, eggs, green tea, honey, milk, oatmeal, and olive oil.

Do you know the proper way to shave? Shaving creams and lotions should be a mandatory part of men’s skin care routine. Proper shaving starts by rinsing your face in hot water and then applying a generous amount of shaving cream or lotion to the area. The cream plumps the hairs, so it is best to let it sit for a minute or two before starting to shave. Once the lotion has done its job, you can shave those whiskers (and the cream) right off your face. Use a sharp blade so that you won’t risk cutting yourself or accidentally scraping your skin. Close shaves come from sharp razors and the closer the shave the more comfortable you will feel when you are done shaving.

Good advice is not to avoid using sunscreen. You may think it is a male thing to do, but you won’t be so brash when you get skin cancer. Get use to the idea that you need to protect your skin just as much as the girls do and find a sunscreen that you like. Keep in mind that you shouldn’t use the same sunscreen on your face that you would use on your arms, legs and other areas of your body. If you use the same sunscreen and do not get a lighter one you could cause a breakout. The majority of moisturizers (including those specially tailored for men) contain some sunscreen. Locate one of these items to keep your face safe from the punishing sun.

There are numerous and varied suggestions out there that will help create good men’s skin care routines. You could look up the types of skin care products available, but it will probably be similar – if not the same – as the one that the females in your life do every night. Effective quality skin care does not make you at all girly. In fact, taking care of your skin is just one of the things you need to do to keep your whole body healthy!
